Nashville Recap

Last weekend, I went to Nashville for the first time to celebrate a sweet friend’s Bachelorette Weekend! It was a total girls’ weekend, and it was the best time! Since it was my first time in the Music City, I thought I would recap our weekend here! Hope you enjoy!

I can’t believe it took me until my senior year in Oxford to get to Nashville. It’s been on my list for a while, but I just never could get there. A weekend to celebrate Melody was the perfect excuse!

We stayed at The Loewe’s Hotel, right across the street from Vanderbilt. The hotel was a great location for us, central to most of our destinations, and convenient for early morning walks around campus. (I feel like just walking around Vandy can raise your IQ, right?)

The hotel was big and beautiful and the staff was incomparable. Truly, we didn’t meet one person there who was anything less than warm and welcoming.

On Friday night, we dined at Virago, a super trendy, uber chic sushi restaurant in Nashville’s “Gulch”. We sipped champagne, tasted seaweed salads, and some amazingly unique sushi rolls. I tried the White Dragon and was not disappointed, but the real crowd pleaser was the roll with truffle oil. Sounds bizarre, but everyone raved about it!

After our early dinner, we went back to the hotel where the Bride’s sweet sisters set up (more) champagne, macarons, and truffles (all her favorite things). We were total girls and took pictures, danced to some old-school Britney, and got ready for our night out.

It’s obligatory, on a Bachelorette weekend, to have at least one night of crazy fun where you force your bride to wear a veil and go somewhere she can dance on stage. We took to Broadway and hit The Big Bang Dueling Piano Bar. Who doesn’t love a good piano bar?

After, we walked down to Crazy Town for the sole purpose that they play 90s and 2000s throwbacks. If you’re looking for a place to dance like fools with your friends, this is the place to go!

Saturday morning after a late start to the day, (Loewe’s Hotels have some pretty fabulous robes that are hard to get out of in the morning) we headed to 12th South, the cutest and quaintest street of restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, and refurbished air-streamers selling s’mores and flowers.

On 12th South, we stopped for craft burgers and truffle fries at BurgerUp for lunch. Can you say Lamb burger with Boursin cheese and honey-thyme dressing? Then sampled some of Nashville’s highly acclaimed doughnuts at Five Daughters Bakery (worth the line and the calories).

We spent the afternoon window shopping and playing fun bachelorette games until a late dinner at Cabana. Cabana is a chic restaurant that loves bachelorettes! Each table is its own semi-private space that makes your dinner feel like an escape! They’ve got a huge menu with lots of fun cocktails for you and your girls.

The next morning, after the food coma wore off, we headed the Le Sel. If I were a restaurant, it would be this one. Cozy pink velvet boots and black and white floors make this French bistro the epitome of chic. Grapefruit mimosas, peach creme fraîche beignets, and savory avocado toast were on the menu, and they absolutely delighted. Le Sel is a must if you’re in Nashville!
