In case you’ve been living under a rock where there are no calendars or thermometers, I thought I should let you know, SPRING IS FINALLY HERE!
For many, this is a celebration. A time when the dreary cold of winter weather makes its way out and the sun finally decides to make an appearance. Flowers are blooming, birds are singing, and legs are peeking out behind shorts and skirts for the first time in months! It’s time to put away those bulky coats, jackets, and boots and pull out those cherished pastels that have been shoved in the back of your closet since August.
But for some, this seasonal transition is a sad one. I’m talking to you, my fall and winter color palettes- Those who dress in all black year round and hold on to their cold weather clothes as long as possible.
Well, good news! There is a way to wear those favorite sweaters before summer comes. Let me show you how I styled sweaters for the spring months!
For this post, I styled two separate outfits with the same easy, comfy black sweater. Hopefully this post will show you how versatile this trend can be!
Look #1: This first look is sophisticated but still comfortable and casual. It’s a great option for a day at the office, an afternoon lunch date, or to Church on Sunday morning.
Wrap skirts are a weakness of mine. And tucking in a slouchy sweater like this is a real way to dress an outfit up, or down.
The easiest way to take a look and transform it into high class sophistication? An elegant statement flat. Sometimes I just take a look in my closet and ask, What Would Audrey Hepburn Do (WWAHD)? The answer is almost always a good flat shoe (that, or statement sunglasses).
Look #2: For this one, I wanted to have a little bit more fun. This look is super springy (hence the bold, floral) but still demure and classic (I’m a sucker for white Keds sneakers).
These shorts and tennis shoes are two of my European travel necessities. They are the most comfortable and versatile.
I love the combination of the clunky black sweater with these fun spring shorts. I think the juxtaposition makes it really fun and different!
The springtime sweater trend is definitely one of my favorites right now! The only downside, there are only a few weeks in the year where the weather permits such an outfit (in the south at least).
So, if you’re feeling inspired, go dig out those sweaters you just packed away and give them one last chance! Would love to hear how you made this trend your own, click the contact tab up top to get in touch!
