I’m so excited to share my newest obsession with y’all! This piece was the first thing on my spring/ summer wish list and has already made an effortless transition into my closet.
When I was in France last summer, I noticed a bunch of French girls picking up this trend so it’s no surprise that it has made its way to the States.
These silk bandanas are a fun, easy way to add color, texture, and style to any outfit. I found my blush patterned one at Madewell. I believe the blush is sold out (here’s hoping they restock!) but in the meantime, they’ve got lots of other great options! I’m currently jonesing for this black one and this light olive one.
The best part about these simple bandanas is that there are limitless ways to wear them! I wanted to show y’all some of my favorite ways to incorporate them into an outfit!
1- NECK TIE
I love the retro feel of tying a scarf around your neck. It’s a great replacement to a necklace and adds some serious visual intrigue to basic outfits. Here, I paired the bandana with my Tibi black ruffle cami , Articles of Society jeans, and snakeskin sandals. A simple black cami and jeans is nothing special, but the scarf transforms a basic two-piece outfit into a complex, interesting, sophisticated ensemble. Plus the French girls are all doing it- therefore, it has to be cool ;).
Okay, so maybe the temperature is rising too rapidly and you can’t handle the extra heat on your neck. No problem. What I love most about these guys is that they’re incredibly transitional. Tie it onto your wrist for a fun fabric bracelet. Or, another thing I love is to tie it onto the strap of whatever bag I’m carrying. It’s an instant way to pull together an outfit.
3- HAIR ACCESSORY
Are you feeling a little Grace of Monaco? You know I always am :). I love tying my hair up in a messy pony with my bandana or going old school and using it as a headband. There’s a really great 50s flair that comes with this one.
Do you have another way to like to rock your silk bandana? I would love to hear about it! Send me your suggestions with the contact form in the menu up top!
